Mrs. Dorset
I began my teaching career in 1994 in Laingsburg, Michigan and also taught in the Airport Community School district before coming to Saline in 1998. I've been teaching 6th and 7th grades here in Saline ever since.
In 1994 I earned my teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University. Then five years later I earned my masters degree from Michigan State University (GO SPARTANS!). I am very proud of my education. In the spring of 2004, I completed 30 additional college credits, and continue to attend workshops and conferences to improve my teaching.
I have a big family: a husband, four sisters, one brother, a mom, a dad, a step-mom and too many nieces and nephews to count. I also have two children. Dominic is a junior at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance, studying Musical Theater. My daughter, Alaina, will be eighteen in November and is a senior at SHS. She enjoys most sports, but basketball and lacrosse are her favorites. Alaina is also a proud member of the SHS Marching Band where this year she is serving as Drum Major. My family is very important to me. We spend a lot of time together traveling, camping, playing sports or sometimes just watching movies at home. My hobbies include traveling, hiking, bike riding and listening to music. This summer we traveled to the Sleeping Bear Dunes area where we spent a week playing in the sand and water. Our state is so beautiful! I just love traveling to see it.
I think this will be a great school year. I am looking forward to meeting the students and families in our class!
